Emergency permit suspended for using Florfenicol in salmon in Tasmania

In November 2025, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) granted an emergency permit for the use of florfenicol in Tasmanian salmon aquaculture to treat Piscirickettsia salmonis.

On 4 March 2026 the APVMA suspended the emergency permit.
